Avis Finest Pralines is a company that was started seven years ago by Jamaal Mackey. At the age of 23, he was introduced to making pecan candy. His aunt would ask him to help stir her pot while she did other things throughout her home.

After his aunt passed away, he began making the candy on his own. While helping her, he learned that the recipe was passed down to her by her grandmother, making this, now, a fourth generation recipe. Avis was the last name of his great-grandmother which makes this candy much more meaningful.

Jamaal decided to start selling his candy after a suggestion from a friend who believed his candy was in high demand and the taste was something people wanted.

Now at 30-years-old, Jamaal is an entrepreneur with his family's recipe making Avis Finest, a business dedicated to its customers from this generation to the next.
